UFC Bantamweight  Champion Aljamain Sterling is pulling no punches when it comes to UFC 292 challenger Sean O’Malley.

Earlier this month, ‘Funk Master’ got the better of Henry Cejudo at UFC 288 via split-decision. Despite dealing with a nagging bicep injury, Sterling is set to see a quick turnover as his showdown with O’Malley has been booked for August.

During a recent edition of The BrOMalley Show, ‘Sugar’ called into question Sterling’s recent concerns about recovery time between fights. The popular bantamweight claimed that ‘Funk Master’ has enough time to both heal up and train sufficiently for another fight between 288 and 291, ultimately dismissing the issue as Sterling simply needing some “discipline.”

Furthermore, O’Malley compared Sterling to two-time UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya, who typically fights three-four times a year. Needless to say, ‘Aljo’ did not appreciate ‘Sugar’s take.

“Isn’t Sean Awesome?” – Aljamain Sterling Mocks ‘Sugar’

In a recent video uploaded to his YouTube channel, ‘Funk Master’ reacted to some of O’Malley’s comments. Firstly, he made clear he will be there for their August showdown.

“I’m gonna show up August 19, not because of you, not because of the fans, I’m showing up because Dana is cutting the cheque for August 19,” Sterling explained. “Other than that, you call no shots, I call no shots, so let’s stop pretending all this other nonsense.”

From there, Sterling went on to mock Sean O’Malley’s relatively light schedule over the past year and notable lack of top contender wins bar Petr Yan back at UFC 280.

“Obviously I have the discipline to become a champion, clearly. Like you said, Izzy fights four times a year or has fought four times a year, how many times did you fight in the last year? Wait, wait, oh wait, Abu Dhabi, October 22nd, we both fought on the same card, I fought three times in 13 months, you fought, I think, once. Wow, that’s impressive bro… I wanna be just like you when I grow up, high all the time, talk like this, and beat all these guys that are in the top 5 that are still currently in the UFC dude. You’re such a freaking bad-ass dude, you’re so freaking awesome, isn’t Sean awesome?”

It appears there’ll be no love lost between Sterling and O’Malley when they finally collide later this year.
